The Laptop model is Dell Latitude E6320. Often Dell laptops or Dell computers take some time to access the hard disk partitions while installing the operating system. But if this process takes some time then there is another problem. In this case, the laptop was booting from USB but was stuck on the Windows 7 Logo. When we Boot a PC or Laptop from USB or DVD or other Bootable Device. In the first step, Some basic files are loaded on the RAM. If RAM is faulty the Laptop Will be stuck during Operating system Installation. But in this case, RAM was working perfectly.

Optical Media like DVDs or CDs

A few years ago I used optical media such as DVDs and CDs to install operating systems. A damaged or scratched DVD or CD can create many problems during Operating system installation. I am using a bootable USB to install Windows 7 x86.

I am a computer technician. I used to use DVDs and CDs to install fresh operating systems. Installing an Operating system with Optical Media devices like DVDs and CDs was a headache. Thanks to the developer for developing the software to make a Bootable USB. Nowadays there are many software available to make a Bootable USB.

But if you have a Low-quality USB this could cause some issues during the Booting and installation process. I always use high-quality HP X705W USB 3.0 32 GB to make it bootable. I have been using this USB for many years. The USB was 100% Perfect. So What was the problem? after thinking about the fault I found a solution.

Insert the USB into the USB 2.0 port

Insert the USB into the USB 2.0 port

Insert Windows 7 x86 Bootable USB into the USB 2.0 port. Don’t use USB 3.0 Port because in some cases it will not work properly if the USB port is not configured in the BIOS Setting. In modern Laptops, Blue color USB ports are in Blue. So always use a USB 2.0 Port if you are installing Windows 7. If you are installing Windows 10 then you can use USB 3.0 Port.

Press the Power Button to turn on the Laptop

After inserting the bootable USB into the USB 2.0 port, press the Power button. This will enable the “Boot from USB” option in the boot menu. If the option is not enabled in the boot menu, just restart the laptop pressing and holding the shortcuts Ctrl+Alt+Shift and pressing the Delete button to restart your PC or laptop.

Press the BIOS Settings key. every laptop has a unique short key for BIOS settings. I am using a Dell laptop and a Dell laptop’s BIOS setting key is F2.

Go to the System Configuration Menu

Use the Up and Down keys on the keyboard to Go to the System Configuration Menu and press Enter. You Can Use an external mouse or internal Touchpad to Access the menus.

Change the SATA Operation

Goto Sata Operation Menu. There are the options available 1 “Disable” 2 “ATA” 3 “AHCI”4 “RIAD”. By default, this laptop is on the 4th option “RIAD”. That was the reason Windows was trying to access the Hard disk partition but due to the wrong configuration, The laptop was Stuck while installing Windows 7 x86.
Change it from “RIAD” to “AHCI” controller. A warning popup be displayed. Click on The “Yes” Button to change the controller. if you press the “NO” Button this controller will not be changed.

Apply Changes and Restart the Laptop

Click on the “Apply” Button at the right bottom. The Laptop Will Restart after saving all changes into the BIOS Setting.

Press the F12 key to Boot the Operating System

Press the F12 Key on the Dell Laptop to Access the Boot Menu. If you are using another laptop press the Boot Menu key according to your laptop. Every laptop Has a Unique Key to Access the Boot Menu.

Click on The USB Storage Device

After entering the Boot Menu use the up and down keys to change the menu select the “USB Storage Device” and hit enter. The Boot Menu is different in every Laptop. Select the Boot from USB option According to your Laptop Boot Menu.

Wait for Booting the Windows. Windows 7 Logo will Appear for one or half a minute. after that, the laptop shows the Windows 7 Install Option. The Laptop Stuck Problem is Solved Now.
