Create a Windows 10 Bootable Windows using Rufus
Create a Windows 10 Bootable USB with the help of Rufus. Please keep in mind to Select the GPT partition Table while Creating Bootable USB. If you create an MBR partition Chromebook will not boot.
Insert The Windows 10 Bootable USB
Insert The Windows 10 Bootable USB into a USB port before opening the Chromebook LID. Chromebooks and modern Laptops have the option to auto-turn on the laptop as you open the Chromebook or Laptop. If the Chromebook is already turned on then no need to worry just insert the Bootable USB and press the power button to restart the Chrome book
Press the “Esc” Key on the Chromebook
Press the Esc key for the Chromebook BIOS settings.
Go to “Boot Manager”
Go to “Boot Manager” in the BIOS Setting. Use the Up and Down keys to select the “Boot Manager” Option and press the “Enter” key on the Keyboard.
Go to “Boot From File”
There are 4 Options in the Boot Manager menu. go to the last option “Boot From File” and Hit the “Enter” Key
Identify Your Bootable USB Device in the File Manager list
This is a file manager to explore the files on the ChromeBook internal Storage like M2 and External storage like USB. I have no M2 installed on this Chromebook at this time. the menu could be changed in your case. The Menu is displaying 2 partitions but I am using one USB. Rufus creates 2 partitions on USB to work properly for UEFI.
Just try to find the main Partation of the USB. This Partation will have many files on it. I am Selecting the first option. You Can explore and find Your USB in this file manager menu.
Go To “efi” Folder
In the next menu try to find a folder named “efi” and press enter.
Goto “boot” Folder
Select the folder named “boot” and press the enter Key.
Select the “bootx64.efi”
Here is the only boot file for Windows 10 named “bootx64.efi” to boot Windows 10 on a Chromebook. Press enter to Install Windows 10 On a Chromebook After Converting.
Wait For Logo
Windows 10 is Booting Now. This is a boot logo. Wait for a few minutes on the Logo Screen.
